Russian President Sends Warm Congratulations to Tajikistan on Independence Day

On the eve of Tajikistan’s Independence Day, Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory telegram to his Tajik counterpart, Emomali Rahmon, lauding the achievements of Dushanbe and the strong partnership between the two nations.

In his message, President Putin extended sincere congratulations and praised Tajikistan’s social and economic progress over 34 years of independence, noting that the country has earned well-deserved recognition on the international stage, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

The Russian leader also highlighted the successful development of strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Tajikistan. “Our states cooperate effectively across various sectors and coordinate efforts within the frameworks of the CIS [Commonwealth of Independent States], CSTO [Collective Security Treaty Organization], SCO [ Shanghai Cooperation Organisation], UN [United Nations], and other multilateral organizations,” the telegram stated.

President Putin expressed confidence that bilateral relations will continue growing, benefiting the peoples of both countries and contributing to security and stability in Central Asia. He wished Emomali Rahmon good health and success, and extended his best wishes to all citizens of Tajikistan for peace and prosperity.

Tajikistan’s Independence Day, the nation’s main national holiday, is celebrated annually on September 9. This year, in honor of the 34th anniversary of independence, the country has declared two public holidays, on September 8 and 9.
