Tajikistan Opens Aluminum Plant and Schools in Tursunzoda

Tajikistan has unveiled a major new industrial facility as President Emomali Rahmon inaugurated the Aluminiy Avvalin (First Aluminum) plant in Tursunzoda on December 9.

The plant, built in partnership with Treks Muhandislik and local entrepreneur Khurshed Azizov, spans 6.2 hectares and features modern production lines capable of manufacturing 40 types of aluminum profiles, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

With an annual capacity of 10,000 tons, it is expected to become a key player in the country’s aluminum-processing sector. The facility also created 160 new jobs for local residents.

During the same visit, President Rahmon opened Secondary School No. 23 in the village of Regar. Designed for 1,056 students across two shifts, the school includes 20 classrooms and fully equipped laboratories for science, IT, geography, and vocational studies.

Rahmon also launched eight additional schools across Tursunzoda via video conference. These new institutions will collectively serve around 8,000 students and create 400 teaching jobs, significantly expanding access to modern education in the region.

In addition, the president inaugurated the new private kindergarten “Ghunchahoi Istiqlol” in the village of Ismoili Somoni. The facility is equipped for 250 children and offers instruction in Tajik, Russian, and English.

The series of openings marks another step in boosting Tajikistan’s industrial output and improving education infrastructure ahead of the country’s 35th independence anniversary.
