Tajikistan has launched a new dairy processing facility in the Khatlon region as part of efforts to strengthen domestic food production, support rural development, and create new employment opportunities.
The new plant, named Asri Vahdat, has begun operations in the village of Munk in the Khovaling district of Khatlon Region. The opening was announced by the presidential press service following a visit by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to the district on June 20, The Caspian Post reports via dairynews.today.
The facility is designed to manufacture more than 10 dairy products, including cream, cottage cheese, kefir, yogurt, cheese, and butter. Equipped with modern processing and storage tanks ranging from one to ten tons in capacity, the plant can produce up to 30 tons of dairy products per month, or approximately 360 tons annually.
The project has already created 20 permanent jobs for local residents, contributing to economic development in the rural community.
Products sold under the Asri Vahdat brand are being distributed across the domestic market in various packaging formats. The factory sources raw milk from the entrepreneur’s own livestock farm and plans to work closely with local farmers to ensure a stable supply of milk.
All incoming raw materials undergo laboratory testing to meet quality and safety standards before processing, assisting to maintain high production standards.
The new facility is expected to play an important role in enhancing Tajikistan’s food processing industry and strengthening the position of small and medium-sized enterprises in agriculture. By relying on locally sourced raw materials, the project aims to build a more resilient supply chain, expand domestic production capacity, and support long-term rural economic growth.
