Tajikistan has signaled its readiness to take an active role in digital and industrial cooperation within the BRICS framework.
The announcement was made by Khurshed Mirzo, Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies (AIDT), during the BRICS Partnership on the New Industrial Revolution Forum, held in Xiamen, China, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
Mirzo underscored the importance of international collaboration in building sustainable digital ecosystems, accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies, and attracting foreign investment. He identified cross-border digital connectivity, public-private partnerships, and innovation as key drivers of industrial development.
On the sidelines of the forum, Mirzo held bilateral meetings with Li Lecheng, China’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology, and Zhao Long, Governor of Fujian Province. Talks centered on cooperation in government cloud services, industrial digitalization, data infrastructure, and the semiconductor sector.
During these discussions, Mirzo invited the Chinese delegation to attend the second international PLUS Forum “Digital Tajikistan”, scheduled to take place in Dushanbe on October 13, 2025.
The participation of the Tajik delegation highlighted the country’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships, fostering technological innovation, and positioning itself as a regional hub for digital connectivity and innovation in Central Asia.
The BRICS forum, jointly organized by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the People’s Government of Fujian Province, focused on advancing inclusive and sustainable industrial development through global cooperation. Chinese media reported that the forum reviewed five years of achievements by the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center, showcasing progress in implementing initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping at recent BRICS summits.
The event featured six thematic sub-forums on smart manufacturing and robotics, new energy technologies, industrial design, pharmaceuticals, technological innovation, and the digital industry ecosystem. A series of practical outcomes and cooperation projects were released as part of the discussions.
