Tajikistan, Russia’s Kazan Sign Tourism Deals to Strengthen Bilateral Travel

Tajikistan and the Russian city of Kazan have taken a significant step toward strengthening bilateral tourism cooperation following a high-level meeting of industry representatives in Dushanbe.

During the meeting, the two sides signed new cooperation agreements, paving the way for joint initiatives aimed at expanding tourism exchanges and fostering sustainable industry growth, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

Discussions centered on enhancing collaboration through the sharing of expertise, particularly Kazan’s successful practices in tourism infrastructure, marketing, and service delivery. Officials also explored investment opportunities and ways to leverage Russia’s advanced tourism management experience to help improve service quality and attract more international visitors.

Both parties expressed a shared commitment to building long-term partnerships, strengthening cultural ties, and promoting economic development through tourism.

The meeting also highlighted Tajikistan’s growing potential as a regional travel destination. In recent years, the country has seen a steady increase in foreign tourist arrivals, driven by improvements in tourism infrastructure and targeted promotional campaigns.

The initiative aligns with Tajikistan’s broader tourism development strategy, which includes a government goal to attract 500,000 Russian tourists annually by 2026-a target this renewed cooperation is expected to support.
