Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover reached $4.7 billion in the first half of 2025, marking an increase of $273 million compared to the same period last year.
Imports rose by 9.4 per cent year-on-year to $3.8 billion, while exports declined by 5.3 per cent to $943.2 million, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
Imports accounted for 80.1 per cent of the total trade volume, with exports making up the remaining 19.9 per cent.
The country’s key export products included antimony and antimony products (30.4 per cent, or $286.5 million), ores and concentrates (26.9 per cent, or $253.4 million), unprocessed aluminum (12.8 per cent, or $120.5 million), cotton fiber (5.8 per cent, or $54.7 million), electricity (4.5 per cent, or $42.7 million), fruit and vegetables (3.4 per cent, or $32.5 million), coal (1.1 per cent, or $10.4 million), cement (1 per cent, or $9.8 million), and leather (0.2 per cent, or $1.6 million).
Exports to the Netherlands, Uzbekistan, and China increased during this period, while shipments to Kazakhstan, Iran, and Russia experienced slight declines.
Tajikistan exports goods to 50 countries, with the top five destinations being Russia, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, China, and the Netherlands.
