Georgia, Turkmenistan Boost Cooperation on Middle Corridor

Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has met with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat to discuss logistics development and the prospects of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).

The sides reviewed the current state of political and economic relations, focusing on deepening cooperation in transit and logistics, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

They highlighted the potential for increasing cargo from Central Asia to Georgian seaports via the Middle Corridor.

Kobakhidze also expressed Georgia’s readiness to support the transit of Turkmen gas through its territory and invited Berdimuhamedov for an official visit to Georgia.
