The representatives of the Turkmen State Veterinary Service have met with UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) consultant Viktoras Zabolotnos at the Central Veterinary Laboratory in Ashgabat to discuss a national assessment of regulatory and procedural trade barriers requested by the Turkmen government.
Arslan Soltanmyradov, Head of the Department of International and Scientific Relations, represented the Turkmen side, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
The study is designed to support the country’s programs on sustainable development, digitalization, and enhancing competitiveness in international markets.
Participants placed particular emphasis on simplifying trade procedures and strengthening the national quality infrastructure, including standardization and accreditation systems. The findings of the assessment are expected in the fourth quarter of 2025 and are anticipated to improve the business climate, attract investment, and help diversify Turkmenistan’s economy.
