A Turkmen delegation, led by Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Nazar Agahanov, has paid a working visit to Japan, holding meetings in Tokyo and Osaka to strengthen trade partnerships and promote Turkmen textile exports.
In Tokyo, the delegation met with Hiroyuki Tsubai, Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee on Economic Cooperation and Executive Vice President of ITOCHU Corporation, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
Discussions focused on opportunities for Japanese companies in Turkmenistan and the development of bilateral trade relations. Agahanov also met with Norihiko Ishiguro, President of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
In Osaka, the delegation paid special attention to EXPO 2025, visiting Turkmenistan’s national pavilion. They held meetings with representatives of the Japan EXPO 2025 Association, as well as commissioners from the Saudi Arabian and Qatari pavilions. Discussions with Japanese companies centered on initiatives to promote Turkmen textiles in Japan.
The visit highlighted the mutual interest of Turkmenistan and Japan in deepening economic cooperation and showcased both countries’ readiness to take concrete steps toward expanding bilateral trade and investment ties.
