A new phase of a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening women's role in the private sector is underway in Turkmenistan, as part of the ongoing “Enhancing the Competitiveness of Women in the Private Labor Market” program.
Spearheaded by the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan with backing from the European Union and the methodological support of the public organization “Achievements of Young People of Turkmenistan”, the project seeks to equip women with critical entrepreneurial skills through free training programs, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.
The initiative is designed to improve women's employment prospects and empower them to launch profitable business ventures. The curriculum, developed by certified trainers and seasoned professionals, covers a broad spectrum of topics such as entrepreneurship fundamentals, business planning, financial management, legal regulations, and business ethics.
Participants will also build essential soft skills including leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence. In addition, the program introduces modern business technologies, innovative job placement strategies, and tools for promoting businesses through media platforms, ensuring a well-rounded foundation for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Currently, the program is accepting applications from women in Ashgabat, Ahal, and Balkan provinces.
The program is seen as a key milestone in advancing gender equality and inclusive economic development in Turkmenistan, providing women with real opportunities to contribute to the country's private sector growth.
