Turkmenistan Officially Registers Over 100 Athletes for III CIS Games in Azerbaijan

Turkmenistan has officially confirmed its participation in the upcoming III Games of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which will be held in Azerbaijan from September 28 to October 8, 2025.

The country has registered a delegation of 170 athletes, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

With Turkmenistan’s confirmation, the total number of participating countries has reached eight. Alongside the host nation Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan had already confirmed their involvement. Collectively, these nations will be represented by approximately 1,840 athletes and 2,666 delegates.

The registration for the Games is being conducted in two phases. The first phase is reserved for delegations from CIS member states, while the second phase will open to invited delegations from non-CIS countries. Overall, the event is expected to attract about 5,500 delegates from 23 countries.

The Games will take place across seven Azerbaijani cities: Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Khankendi. Designed to celebrate youth unity, friendship, and sportsmanship, the III CIS Games are poised to become one of the most prestigious sporting events in the region.
