Turkmenistan, Romania Forge New Trade Partnerships

In Constanța, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Romania Annamammet Annaev has met with Ruxandra Serescu, General Director of the Constanța Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, alongside key officials, to discuss strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

Annaev provided an overview of Turkmenistan’s robust economic growth and identified priority sectors for collaboration, such as energy, logistics, construction, textiles, agriculture, and investment opportunities, The Caspian Post reports per Turkmen media.

The meeting highlighted potential cooperation through the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), a key platform for international economic partnerships, and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET), which represents over 27,000 private companies actively engaged in agricultural, logistics, and manufacturing projects backed by foreign investments.

Turkmen representatives proposed establishing direct partnerships with TCCI and UIET, including the signing of memorandums of understanding, forming joint business councils, organizing business forums, and promoting delegation exchanges.

In turn, Serescu expressed her readiness to support the signing of a memorandum and confirmed that detailed proposals would be shared shortly. She also welcomed Turkmen companies’ participation in upcoming exhibitions and fairs in Constanța.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to institutionalize trade and economic dialogue and strengthen direct ties between the business communities of Turkmenistan and Romania.
