Turkmens from Around World Convene in Ashgabat for Humanitarian Summit

The 26th Conference of the World Turkmens Humanitarian Association officially has opened in the capital of Turkmenistan, bringing together representatives of the Turkmen diaspora and public organizations from around the world.

The event coincides with the celebration of Turkmenistan’s Independence Day and is being held in the context of the International Year of Peace and Trust, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

In his opening address, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov welcomed delegates and emphasized the importance of the conference in fostering unity among Turkmens globally, strengthening cultural and fraternal ties, and promoting the nation’s humanistic values on the world stage.

The president highlighted that Turkmenistan’s guiding principles of independence and permanent neutrality are the cornerstones of its modern development and international engagement. These values, he noted, continue to shape the country's path toward stability, peace, and sustainable growth.

President Berdimuhamedov also acknowledged the role of National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council) and President of the World Turkmens Humanitarian Association, in shaping the country's image as a peaceful and friendly state. His leadership, the president said, has helped elevate Turkmenistan’s reputation as a promoter of global harmony and sustainable development.

Looking ahead, President Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the conference will further enhance international dialogue, expand humanitarian cooperation, and solidify Turkmenistan’s role in fostering global peace and cultural exchange.

The conference serves as a key platform for Turkmens living abroad to maintain strong ties with their homeland, celebrate their heritage, and contribute to Turkmenistan’s continued engagement with the global community.
