ADB Pledges Broader Support for Uzbekistan’s Growth

The Asian Development Bank is set to expand its wide-ranging support for Uzbekistan, focusing on infrastructure, digital connectivity, and social development.

Speaking at a press conference during the ADB’s 59th Annual Meeting in Samarkand, ADB President Masato Kanda reaffirmed the bank’s strong commitment to deepening cooperation with the country, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

He highlighted Uzbekistan’s key role in major regional initiatives, including the Pan-Asian power grid and the Asia-Pacific digital highway-projects designed to strengthen both energy and digital links within the country and across borders.

Kanda said that improved connectivity will unlock new business opportunities while ensuring access to essential public services, especially for people in remote areas.

Beyond infrastructure, the ADB plans to scale up support in social protection and human capital development, reinforcing efforts toward inclusive and sustainable growth.

The bank aims to further strengthen its partnership with Uzbekistan, with a long-term focus on improving living standards and supporting the most vulnerable segments of the population.
