Tashkent has hosted the second round of high-level talks between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, culminating in agreements to expand strategic cooperation, including a new initiative to jointly develop “green” mineral resources across the entire supply chain.
The two sides reaffirmed their all-weather strategic partnership, highlighting growing momentum in trade, investment, and projects in industry, energy, transport, and agriculture, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
The green minerals agreement-essential for renewable energy technologies-marks a significant new step in bilateral economic collaboration.
Political commitments were also exchanged. China pledged continued support for Uzbekistan’s sovereign choice and economic reforms under the “New Uzbekistan” strategy, while Uzbekistan reaffirmed its adherence to the One China principle, supporting Beijing’s efforts toward national reunification.
Regional security and multilateral cooperation were key discussion points. Both sides emphasized coordination within the UN, SCO, BRICS, and the China-Central Asia format, as well as continued collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Diplomats described the strategic dialogue mechanism as an effective platform for building mutual trust, strengthening ties, and advancing shared economic and security priorities across Central Asia.
