The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has officially accredited a representative office of Citibank AS.
Citibank AS, a subsidiary of the American financial giant Citibank, is registered in Türkiye, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The Citibank group provides a broad spectrum of banking services - ranging from retail and corporate banking to investment solutions - operating in more than 180 countries worldwide.
The Central Bank noted that the establishment of the new office aims to deepen the understanding of Uzbekistan’s financial market and strengthen collaboration with government agencies and financial institutions across the country.
Earlier, in June 2025, Laziz Kudratov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, engaged in talks with a Citigroup delegation led by David Livingstone, Chief Client Officer. Discussions focused on expanding partnerships in key areas including attracting investments, export financing, and advancing projects under public-private partnership frameworks.
Citigroup has announced plans to open a representative office in Tashkent soon, which is expected to create new opportunities to enhance cooperation in strategic sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy.
