The Seismic Forecast Monitoring Center of the Uzbek Ministry of Emergency Situations has announced that a magnitude 3.5 earthquake was recorded at 15:32 p.m. (GMT+5) in southern Uzbekistan.
The epicenter was located in the Nishan district of Kashkadarya region, where tremors measured 4 points in intensity. The quake originated at a depth of 10 kilometers, with coordinates at 38.51°N, 65.81°E, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Seismic activity was also felt in nearby areas:
Nishan District - 2-3 points (22 km from epicenter)
Guzar District - 2 points (29 km)
Karshi City - 2 points (37 km)
The epicenter is located 422 km southwest of Tashkent, the nation’s capital.
According to preliminary data, no casualties or structural damage have been reported.
