Police Dismantle Crime Network in Uzbekistan

The police officers in Uzbekistan have dismantled a major criminal network involved in the production and distribution of powerful psychotropic substances, following a large-scale special operation across Tashkent.

Law enforcement officers arrested six members of an organized group and seized significant quantities of illegal drugs, including more than 9 kilograms of powdered chemical components used in production, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The operation began in the Yangi Hayot District, where two couriers were detained while attempting to sell 500 units of illicit pharmaceuticals. Further investigation led to additional arrests and uncovered links to a wider distribution chain operating in the region.

Acting on intelligence, police extended their operation to Angren, where they discovered a fully equipped underground laboratory in a residential building used for large-scale drug manufacturing.

During the raid, officers seized 9 kilograms of pregabalin, 500 grams of tropicamide, hundreds of prepared capsules, and specialized equipment used for industrial packaging.

Criminal proceedings have been launched, and investigations are ongoing to identify additional suspects and dismantle remaining supply routes linked to the illegal network.
