Russia's Rosatom Opens Door for Uzbek Companies in NPP Construction

Russia’s nuclear giant Rosatom is opening the door for Uzbek businesses to take part in one of the country’s most ambitious energy projects - the construction of its future nuclear power plant.

Speaking at the INNOPROM Central Asia exhibition in Tashkent, Pavel Bezrukov, vice president of Atomstroyexport, called on Uzbek and joint Russian-Uzbek enterprises to actively join the project - promising maximum incentives and support, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

He noted that the large-scale development will require a wide range of equipment, materials, and resources that can be produced locally. Uzbek companies are encouraged to monitor procurement opportunities on Rosatom’s platforms as well as local marketplaces.

Bezrukov highlighted that domestic and joint ventures will benefit from special conditions, including preferential treatment when participating in the construction process.

He also revealed that key groundwork is already underway: the site for a future satellite city near the plant has been selected, its master plan completed, and project documentation is being prepared. At the same time, efforts to attract investment into the project have already begun.
