Russia, Uzbekistan Review Progress on Joint Cooperation Plan

Russia and Uzbekistan have stepped up their economic and strategic partnership. Leaders from both countries reviewed progress on the joint “roadmap” agreed during recent high-level talks.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed a high-level Russian delegation, led by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, who arrived in Tashkent for the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Uzbek Commission, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The delegation also included governors from Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Bashkortostan and Krasnoyarsk.

Manturov conveyed warm greetings from President Vladimir Putin. The sides highlighted steady growth in bilateral trade and advancing joint projects across industry, energy, transport, metallurgy, chemicals and other key sectors.

The conversation stressed the need for coordinated efforts to maintain trade momentum, speed up cooperation initiatives-especially within industrial zones-and boost regional and business-level engagement. The successful outcomes of the Commission’s session and related business events in Tashkent were also noted.

On the sidelines, leaders of major Russian companies briefed President Mirziyoyev on new project proposals in IT, energy, electrical engineering, machinery, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles and food production, underscoring the expanding economic partnership between the two countries.
