In a groundbreaking discovery in Karakalpakstan, western Uzbekistan, scientists from Berdakh Karakalpak State University and the State Geological Museum of Uzbekistan have uncovered dinosaur bones believed to be around 70 million years old.
The expedition revealed fragments of vertebrae, shin bones, and other skeletal parts, hinting that the remains may belong to a giant dinosaur, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Ahmadjon Ahmedshaev, director of the Geological Museum, confirmed that all findings date back to the Cretaceous period.
The bones will undergo detailed laboratory analysis with international experts to determine their exact classification. Once the research is complete, the fossils are set to be housed at the State Geological Museum of Uzbekistan, offering a rare glimpse into the prehistoric giants that once roamed the region.
