The Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis (parliament) has hosted a meeting between Secretary General Kudrat Nurullayev and a delegation led by Azerbaijani Parliament Chief of Staff Farid Hajiyev, where officials highlighted that Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan relations are founded on centuries-old historical ties and shared cultural and spiritual values.
They noted that, with the strong political will of both countries’ leaders, inter-parliamentary cooperation has reached a new, higher level, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The discussion highlighted the successful organization of the First Uzbek-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Forum in Khiva and the signing of the 2025-2026 roadmap for inter-parliamentary collaboration. Both sides stressed the importance of advancing these agreements and deepening partnerships at both leadership and administrative levels.
The meeting also focused on cooperation between the parliamentary administrations, including the exchange of expertise in lawmaking, enhancement of parliamentary research, information and analytical work, use of international rankings, and the adoption of innovative digital solutions.
The officials concluded the meeting by agreeing to further expand inter-parliamentary ties, maintain ongoing constructive dialogue, and strengthen practical cooperation between the administrations of the Uzbek and Azerbaijani parliaments.
