Director of Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency Abdulla Azizov has recently held a strategic meeting with investors from the Republic of Belarus to discuss the launch of an innovative Regenerative Medicine Center in Uzbekistan.
The planned center will focus on cutting-edge medical technologies including cell therapy, tissue engineering, biotechnology, and restorative medicine, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
Belarusian investors committed to supporting the project by developing advanced laboratory and clinical infrastructures and preparing highly skilled personnel. The center aims to comply with international standards, positioning Uzbekistan as a regional leader in this emerging field.
Azizov highlighted the project’s importance, stating it will significantly contribute to the advancement of Uzbekistan’s healthcare system. He also noted that the country has established a favorable environment for attracting foreign investment and implementing such initiatives, with strong backing from relevant government bodies.
Both parties agreed to undertake a thorough analysis of the project’s practical implementation, prepare a detailed feasibility study, and form a joint working group to coordinate efforts.
Upon completion, the Regenerative Medicine Center is expected to become a premier institution not only within Uzbekistan but across the wider Central Asian region.
