Uzbek Agriculture Minister Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov has held high-level talks with international officials at the ongoing Second UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) in Addis Ababa, including a key bilateral meeting with Serbia’s minister of agriculture, forestry, and water management.
Abdurakhmonov highlighted Uzbekistan’s comprehensive reforms targeting agricultural modernization, soil preservation, efficient water resource management, and enhanced food security, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
The Serbian delegation outlined challenges in seed production and grain cultivation-particularly corn-and expressed willingness to collaborate on sharing modern agricultural technologies.
Both sides discussed strengthening cooperation through information exchange, academic and scientific partnerships, and joint efforts in agricultural processing and export.
Inviting Serbian companies to explore investment opportunities, Abdurakhmonov proposed visits to Uzbekistan for closer collaboration and practical project development.
The ministers also agreed on organizing a fact-finding visit for Serbian experts to evaluate Uzbekistan’s agricultural potential firsthand.
