Uzbekistan has provided a major package of agricultural aid to Afghanistan, donating tons of seeds to support farming, strengthen food security, and help rural communities increase agricultural production.
The humanitarian assistance was delivered by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Seed Development Center and is aimed at supporting Afghan farmers and agricultural institutions, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.
The shipment includes 20 tons of certified cotton seeds adapted to local climate conditions, 20 tons of rice seeds, and 500 kilograms of high-quality vegetable and melon crop seeds.
The initiative is designed to improve food security, create employment opportunities in rural areas, and promote the use of modern agricultural technologies across Afghanistan's farming sector.
Agriculture remains a critical source of income and livelihoods for millions of Afghans, making access to quality seeds an important factor in improving crop yields and strengthening local food production.
Uzbekistan views agricultural cooperation with Afghanistan as an important component of regional stability and economic development. The partnership is built on principles of good neighborly relations, mutual support, and shared prosperity.
