Uzbekistan, Finland Join Forces to Advance Digital Transport and Smart Logistics

Uzbekistan and Finland are exploring new opportunities to modernize transport systems and logistics through digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and real-time data management.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and Kimmo Ylisiurunen, Head of Cluster, Traffic Data Service Cluster at Fintraffic, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.

The two sides focused on expanding cooperation in digital mobility, transport management, logistics systems, and transport data ecosystems. Officials exchanged expertise on managing road, rail, air, and maritime transportation through integrated digital infrastructure platforms.

A key topic of the talks was the use of real-time transport data processing and monitoring technologies to improve efficiency and strengthen logistics networks. The discussions also covered the adoption of intelligent logistics solutions and the growing role of artificial intelligence in transportation management.

Another major area of interest was the development of digital logistics corridors connecting Central Asia and Europe. The sides explored opportunities for collaboration on open API services, transport data platforms, and GovTech solutions designed to improve connectivity and streamline cross-border trade.

As countries increasingly rely on digital infrastructure to support economic growth, both Uzbekistan and Finland see smart mobility and data-driven logistics as essential components of the future transport sector.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to sharing expertise and pursuing joint projects aimed at building more efficient, connected, and technologically advanced transport systems.
