Uzbekistan, Italy Forge Agreement on Teacher Training Collaboration

A delegation led by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova paid a visit to Italy.

As part of the program, the Minister met with the Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Professor Valerio de Cesaris, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The sides discussed the issues of establishing cooperation in preschool and school education, exchange of experience, and implementation of joint projects in the educational and social spheres. During the discussions, an agreement was reached to allocate grant funds to a foreign organization for teacher training.

Future cooperation issues were also discussed with the President of the Italian Society for International Organization (SIOI),Riccardo Sessa. Following the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Ministry and the SIOI. According to the document, talented young people will now participate in exchange programs implemented in cooperation with this organization.

The Minister Hilola Umarova also met with the President of the Global Hippo Association Daniele Piacenti. It was decided to hold a qualifying stage for applicants from the CIS countries to participate in the English language Olympiad organized by this organization in Uzbekistan this year.
