On 11 December, a productive meeting was held in Tashkent between Alisher Shaykhov, Adviser to the Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Coordinator for Trade and Industry to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
During the talks, the two sides explored prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation, increasing mutual investments, and implementing joint projects, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
Special focus was placed on strategically important sectors, including solar energy, information technology, and the pharmaceutical industry. To strengthen collaboration, the parties proposed organizing joint training sessions and experience-sharing programs in these fields.
The meeting also reviewed initiatives for developing a professional training system, introducing modern educational programs, and establishing advanced training centers based on international standards.
Following the discussions, both sides confirmed their readiness to create a permanent platform for dialogue between government bodies and the private sector, enhance business integration, and elevate Uzbekistan-Pakistan trade and economic relations to a new qualitative level.
