Uzbekistan’s Interior Minister Aziz Toshpulatov met with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, in St. Petersburg to discuss the implementation of new regulations governing migrants in Russia.
According to Kolokoltsev, foreign citizens who have violated the rules of stay in Russia will have the opportunity to restore their legal status until 10 September 2025, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
The Russian Interior Minister also expressed hope that the Uzbek side would continue its information campaign to raise awareness among its citizens about these rules.
Kolokoltsev noted that the Russian government is paying special attention to regulating migration. In April, a department for citizenship and registration of foreign nationals was established within the structure of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, aimed at improving public administration in the migration sphere.
