Uzbekistan’s Tashkent to Launch Night Buses Connecting Tourist Hotspots

In a move aimed at enhancing urban mobility and supporting the city’s tourism sector, Uzbekistan’s Tashkent city will launch night bus routes linking its main tourist streets.

The decision was approved by the City Kengash (Council) of People's Deputies, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

The new service will operate under a gross contract system, ensuring that fares remain in line with the current rates of city public transport.

Equipped to meet modern standards, the buses will feature air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, onboard video surveillance, and be fully accessible to passengers with disabilities.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve the city’s infrastructure for both residents and tourists, particularly during evening hours. The Tashkent Department of Tourism, in cooperation with the Department for the Development of Transport Infrastructure, has been tasked with launching a public information campaign using media outlets, official websites, and social media platforms.

The implementation and oversight of the project will be handled by the Standing Commission of the Kengash on issues related to construction, utilities, ecology, industry, and transport, along with deputy mayors of Tashkent.

City officials say the night routes are designed to not only enhance public safety and convenience but also to encourage nighttime economic activity in the capital.
