A seminar held in the South Korean cities of Daejeon and Yeosu under the “Kor-UZ” joint research initiative, has aimed to boost Uzbekistan’s chemical research capabilities and global industry competitiveness through the development of the Uzbek Center for Chemical Technologies (UzCCT).
The seminar organized by KOICA brought together leading scientists from Uzbekistan and South Korea, who presented six scientific and technical reports covering recent breakthroughs in chemistry and chemical technology, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
The event served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative dialogue on modern innovations and best practices.
As part of the program, participants toured the facilities of the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT), gaining hands-on exposure to cutting-edge laboratory equipment and exploring its practical applications in Uzbekistan’s industrial context.
A dedicated session was also held with Uzbek master’s and PhD students studying in South Korea under KOICA scholarships. Discussions focused on the future direction of UzCCT, the role of young researchers in shaping its development, and how their international academic experience could help drive innovation and modernization within Uzbekistan’s industrial sector.
This seminar marked a key step in strengthening bilateral cooperation in science and technology between the two countries. It is expected to open new avenues for joint research and development, while playing a strategic role in elevating Uzbekistan’s chemical industry on the global stage.
