Uzbekistan, US Explore Sports Cooperation Ahead of World Cup 2026 and 2028 Olympics

A high-level meeting at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Sports with US Ambassador Jonathan Henick has brought together ministry officials, the National Olympic Committee, and the Uzbekistan Football Association to discuss boosting bilateral sports cooperation.

Special attention was given to preparing the Uzbek delegation for major upcoming international events in the United States, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

Key topics included athlete participation, procedural coordination, and opportunities to expand sports collaboration between the two nations.

Henick praised Uzbekistan’s sporting achievements and highlighted the friendly ties between the leaders of both countries. He also expressed the US Embassy’s readiness to provide practical support in document processing and to assist Uzbek athletes in their preparation for international competitions.
