President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan and Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting in Tbilisi, where they discussed topics related to cooperation in political, economic, cultural, and other areas of mutual interest, The Caspian Post reports citing Armenpress.
The President’s Office said the meeting proceeded in a constructive and partnership-based atmosphere.
The role of interparliamentary ties in further deepening bilateral relations was underscored, and the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at promoting stability, development, and mutual trust in the region was highlighted, according to the press release issued by the President’s Office.
Referring to the Crossroads of Peace initiative, President Khachaturyan emphasized the project’s strategic significance for long-term peace and economic integration in the region.
The parties agreed that the successful implementation of this initiative could create new opportunities for sustainable economic growth not only for Armenia and Georgia but for the entire region.
They also discussed issues related to unlocking the economic potential of regional development and deepening energy cooperation. In this context, the importance of joint engagement in international platforms and multilateral formats was emphasized with a view to ensuring the effective implementation of energy projects, developing connectivity infrastructure, and expanding mutually beneficial economic ties.
