Armenia has received its first railway shipment of oil products from Azerbaijan, with video footage showing the historic delivery.
In the early hours of December 19, a freight train from Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) arrived at Beyuk-Kesik station carrying 22 wagons with 1,220 tons of AI-95 gasoline, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Four hours later, the train continued its journey toward Georgia and was eventually delivered to Armenia via transit through Georgian territory.
The shipment follows an agreement reached on November 28 in Gabala, during a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
Earlier this year, grain shipments from Kazakhstan and Russia were also transported to Armenia through Azerbaijan, highlighting growing regional logistics cooperation.
