Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways company Rovshan Rustamov has met with Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, in Tbilisi to explore the possibility of restoring passenger rail service between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the strategic importance of reestablishing this cross-border connection, emphasizing its role in boosting tourism, improving regional mobility, and deepening economic ties, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
The discussions in Tbilisi reflect the continued commitment of both nations to enhancing cooperation in the transport and infrastructure sectors.
Kvrivishvili’s recent visit to Baku also underscored the growing momentum in bilateral relations. During her trip, she was received by President Ilham Aliyev and held a series of high-level talks with Azerbaijani officials focused on trade, investment, and regional development.
