Azerbaijani Leader Congratulates Turkish Counterpart on PKK Disbandment During Phone Call

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has held a phone talk with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during which he warmly congratulated the Turkish people on the disbandment of the PKK and its decision to lay down arms.

He hailed the development as a major achievement, describing it as a testament to President Erdoğan’s decisive leadership, unwavering resolve, and the spirit of national unity and solidarity that continues shaping Türkiye’s domestic policy, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Calling the move a historic turning point, President Aliyev emphasized its importance in promoting long-term peace and stability across the region. He expressed confidence in Türkiye’s ability to successfully implement this step and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s solidarity with its closest ally.

President Erdoğan thanked his Azerbaijani counterpart for the warm congratulations and support, underlining the strength of the brotherly bond between the two nations.
