EDB Forecasts 6.6% Growth for Central Asian Economies

Deputy Chairman and Chief Economist of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Evgeny Vinokurov has said that the EDB expects average economic growth in Central Asian countries to reach 6.6 per cent in 2025.

Country-specific growth forecasts for 2025 include: Kazakhstan - 5.9 per cent, Kyrgyzstan - 10.3 per cent, Tajikistan - 8.3 per cent, and Uzbekistan - 7.4 per cent. The EDB projects regional GDP to exceed $600 billion, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Looking ahead to 2026, the bank predicts the region’s economy will grow by around 6.1 per cent, with Kazakhstan at 5.5 per cent, Kyrgyzstan 9.3 per cent, Tajikistan 8.1 per cent, and Uzbekistan 6.8 per cent.

EDB also forecasts gradually slowing inflation across most Central Asian countries, with 2026 year-end estimates of 9.7 per cent in Kazakhstan, 8.3 per cent in Kyrgyzstan, 6.7 per cent in Uzbekistan, and 4.5 per cent in Tajikistan.
