Georgia Seizes Over 150 kg of Heroin Worth $20M in Major Bust

Georgian Deputy Interior Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze has said that police seized a massive shipment of heroin weighing 157 kilograms, with an estimated black-market value of $20 million.

"The drugs were smuggled by an Iranian national in a truck through a neighboring country and hidden inside marble slabs," Darakhvelidze said, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

The Georgian Interior Ministry continues investigating other individuals involved in the crime.

Authorities noted that the case is being prosecuted under criminal code articles carrying life imprisonment.
