The Chinese government will award 73 educational scholarships to students from Kazakhstan for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The grants are provided under a bilateral agreement between Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education and China’s Ministry of Education, covering bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programs, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Each scholarship includes tuition fees, a monthly stipend, medical insurance, and accommodation.
Applicants must complete online registration on the China Scholarship Council website. Applications will be accepted via Egov.kz or directly at the Center for International Programs from January 21 to February 10, 2026.
From this year, all foreign applicants seeking undergraduate studies in China will be required to take the CSCA (College Student Competence Assessment), an academic readiness test for international students. However, candidates are not required to take or submit CSCA results during the application period; the test will be administered after the competitive selection.
In a reciprocal move, Kazakhstan will allocate 60 university grants for students from Kyrgyzstan in 2026, underscoring expanding educational cooperation across the region.
