Environmental Concern as Dozens of Dead Birds Wash Up on Shores of Kazakhstan's Mangistau

Carcasses of dead birds have been discovered along the coastline near Fort-Shevchenko, as well as the villages of Kyzylozen, Atash, and Bautino in Kazakhstan.

Specialists from the territorial and fish health inspectorates, together with environmental police, carried out a coastal inspection and found 13 dead birds - including ducks, cormorants, and seagulls - scattered along different areas of the shore, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

Authorities said that collecting samples for laboratory analysis was not possible since the remains had already begun to decompose. The local district administration has been notified, and cleanup and disposal work is now underway.

Monitoring in the region will continue to determine possible causes and prevent further incidents.

Earlier, reports emerged of 112 Caspian seal carcasses found along the coast from Asan town to Cape Bautino, raising environmental concerns about the state of marine wildlife in the area.
