Kazakhstan Backs Regional Connectivity at EU-Central Asia Ministerial Meeting

Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Issetov has taken part in a high-level ministerial meeting focused on enhancing connectivity among Central Asia, the Eastern Partnership, Türkiye, and the EU.

Foreign ministers from the EU, Central Asia, South Caucasus, and Türkiye gathered to discuss practical steps in transport, energy, digital transformation, and trade, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Special attention was given to developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), upgrading infrastructure, and expanding access to clean energy and digital networks.

In his remarks, Issetov emphasized Kazakhstan’s strategic role as a regional transit hub and noted that transport is among 29 priority areas under the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the EU-marking its 10th anniversary this December.

Kazakhstan highlighted $35 billion in infrastructure investments over the past decade and reaffirmed its commitment to deeper regional and interregional cooperation.

Participants agreed to continue advancing joint projects that strengthen transport, energy, and digital connectivity across the broader region.
