In 2025, Kazakhstan took major steps to expand its agricultural exports, strengthening its presence in global markets.
The Ministry of Agriculture secured 16 veterinary certificates after talks with seven countries, opening opportunities to export milk, beef, lamb, honey, and fish to Azerbaijan; live small ruminants to Mongolia; animal feed to Morocco; and hides and wool to Iran. The EU also approved Kazakhstan’s apicultural products for its market, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Rising global demand has driven strong growth in key meat exports: beef shipments rose 1.7 times to 30,200 tons, while mutton exports grew 1.9-fold to 25,500 tons in the first ten months of 2025.
Negotiations continue with 12 countries, including Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, the UAE, Jordan, and Pakistan for meat, offal, and dairy, and with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Great Britain, Canada, and Hong Kong for dairy, honey, and animal feed. Kazakhstan is also exploring exports of Artemia cysts to Ecuador.
To support these efforts, the country has modernized its veterinary infrastructure, building 400 stations and acquiring 890 units of specialized equipment. A state-of-the-art veterinary laboratory in East Kazakhstan, supported by China, is also operational.
Future plans include exporting cattle hides, poultry meat, and poultry offal, with protocols signed and enterprises fully inspected.
