Kazakhstan’s economy is set for strong growth in 2025, with GDP expected to surpass $300 billion for the first time.
Ruslan Zheldibay, Assistant to the President and Press Secretary, said the economy is projected to grow by over 6 per cent, the highest rate in a decade, with per capita GDP reaching $15,000, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
In 2025, Kazakhstan launched 185 major projects worth around 1.478 trillion tenge ($2.946 billion), creating over 22,800 permanent jobs and expected to generate an economic output of 2.3 trillion tenge ($4.584 billion). Key initiatives include the second line of the Dostyk-Moyynty railway, the KIA Qazaqstan automobile plant in Kostanay, and the Stadler Kazakhstan passenger rail car plant in Astana.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also oversaw new airport terminals in Shymkent and Kyzylorda and projects across ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, chemical, pulp and paper, light and food industries, and construction materials.
Throughout 2025, the president visited nine regions and over 50 industrial, scientific, and socio-cultural facilities, demonstrating a strong commitment to infrastructure, industry, and regional development.
