The Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan has announced a complete ban on flights over the airspace of Iran, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon, including surrounding areas, due to heightened regional tensions.
The decision was made due to the tense situation in the Middle East and the high level of threat to civil aviation safety, The Caspian Post reports citing AKIpress.
"The ban applies to all regular and irregular passenger, cargo, and technical flights of Kazakhstani air carriers. It comes into effect upon receipt and is mandatory," the Committee clarified.
Earlier reports indicated that after Israeli strikes, Kazakhstani airlines began rerouting to avoid the airspace of Iran and Iraq.
