Kazakhstan has taken over the chairmanship of the Union of Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) for 2026.
During its tenure, Kazakhstan plans to focus on industrial cooperation projects, building a portfolio of joint ventures, and expanding transport and logistics corridors, including the Middle Corridor and the North-South route, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Raimbek Batalov was appointed president of the TCCI for a one-year term.
Batalov highlighted that strengthening the Turkic economic direction is a key priority for Kazakhstan’s foreign economic policy. He noted significant growth in exports of higher value-added products such as grain with sunflower oil, petrochemical goods, foodstuffs, and processed materials, signaling a shift from simple trade to industrial and agro-industrial collaboration.
Mutual trade among Turkic countries reached $11 billion from January to October 2025, a 10 per cent increase year-on-year, with Kazakhstan’s exports growing 16.6 per cent to $7.9 billion.
Founded in 2019, the TCCI brings together Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary, covering a Turkic economic space of over 180 million people and aiming to strengthen regional economic integration.
