Germany is making travel easier for citizens of Kyrgyzstan, signaling a new boost in bilateral cooperation and people-to-people ties.
Speaking at a parliamentary committee, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Germany Omurbek Tekebaev revealed that visa procedures are becoming more flexible, reflecting growing political dialogue and closer coordination between the two nations, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Since 2022, Bishkek and Berlin have signed four key agreements and 24 memorandums, laying the groundwork for expanded cooperation. One of the most tangible outcomes: Germany is now easing visa issuance for Kyrgyz citizens-an important step for business, tourism, and education exchanges.
In a parallel development, Intertek Germany is eyeing entry into the Kyrgyz market. If the government allocates $1 million, local farmers could receive international certification services free of charge-unlocking new export opportunities and boosting competitiveness abroad.
Economic cooperation is also accelerating. Last year, around 100 Kyrgyz companies took part in a major business forum organized by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Berlin. Another forum is already planned for April 2026, with dozens more firms preparing to join.
Adding to the momentum, a tourist train operated by Lernidee Erlebnisreisen recently arrived in Bishkek, traveling along the historic Great Silk Road route across five Central Asian countries-highlighting rising interest in the region as a travel destination.
From easier visas to expanding trade and tourism, the growing partnership between Germany and Kyrgyzstan is opening new doors-making it simpler for people, goods, and ideas to move between the two countries.
