A job and career fair will take place on October 2 at the Gapar Aitiev National Museum of Fine Arts in Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek city.
The event is set to feature over 100 employers and will include career guidance sessions for schoolchildren and university students, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Gulzada Akunova, Chief Specialist at the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration, emphasized the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote employment nationwide. Citizens have access to free career counseling, professional training, business consulting services, and support measures including unemployment and temporary disability benefits.
Organized twice a year - in spring and autumn - the job fairs aim to connect job seekers with potential employers. As of August 1, 2025, around 44,000 unemployed citizens had registered with employment services, according to the National Statistical Committee.
Akunova also highlighted initiatives to reduce poverty and create additional jobs. The Social Contract program, designed for low-income families, provides social assistance of 150,000 soms. In 2025, 13,333 families participated, and monitoring revealed that five participants have already become millionaires.
In addition, the government has been running the pilot project “Youth Internship” since 2024 for citizens aged 16 to 35. The program provides initial work experience, improves qualifications, and ensures future employment. So far, 3,000 young people have participated, with over 2,000 already employed. Internships are available in sectors such as healthcare, veterinary services, banking, and more. The program is set to continue until 2027.
