Kyrgyzstan and the World Bank have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation during high-level talks focused on economic reforms and sustainable growth.
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, met with Najy Benhassine, Regional Director for Central Asia at the World Bank, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The discussions covered the current state and future prospects of bilateral partnership, progress on priority joint projects, budget support, and key legislative reforms.
Kasymaliev expressed gratitude for the World Bank’s continued backing of Kyrgyzstan’s socio-economic transformation, stressing that the government highly values the institution’s trust. He underlined Bishkek’s readiness for open dialogue and the adoption of best international practices in public financial management.
The sides also reviewed cooperation plans for the year ahead and the medium term, signaling an intention to keep reform momentum strong.
Benhassine congratulated the Cabinet of Ministers on recent achievements, describing Kyrgyzstan’s economic growth and development indicators at the regional level as “very impressive.” He praised fiscal policy improvements and noted that ongoing reforms are helping create a more favorable economic environment.
“Sustainable growth means, first and foremost, creating new jobs and improving the well-being of citizens,” Benhassine said, assuring Kyrgyzstan of the World Bank’s full support across areas of mutual interest.
