Russian–Kyrgyz Development Fund Invests Over $175 Million in New Hydropower and Renewable Projects

The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund is currently financing the construction of 14 hydropower and renewable energy facilities in Kyrgyzstan, with a combined value exceeding $175 million.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov announced the figures during a briefing following his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Japarov highlighted the fund’s major role in strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. “We highly value the work of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, which serves as one of the key drivers in advancing bilateral economic relations. Since its establishment, the fund has invested over $1 billion into Kyrgyzstan’s economy, financing more than three and a half thousand projects across all regions of the country,” he said.

He added that the total volume of the fund’s investments has already doubled its original authorized capital, underscoring its expanding contribution to Kyrgyzstan’s development.
