The Kyrgyz Health Ministry has announced that the work of Russian doctors in Bishkek under the international program “Mission Goodwill” has come to a close.
The international volunteer initiative was organized by Russian agency for cultural exchange Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Railways Medicine (RZD-Medicine) Medical Group, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
The delegation included six highly qualified specialists from Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, Samara, and Chita: a urologist, cardiovascular surgeon, cardiologist, obstetrician-gynecologist, nephrologist, and trauma orthopedist.
Over the course of five days, Russian doctors worked side by side with their Kyrgyz colleagues at the country’s leading medical institutions, including the National Hospital, the Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation, the National Center of Cardiology and Therapy, the Kyrgyz Scientific Center for Human Reproduction, the Research Institute of Balneology and Rehabilitation, the Railway Hospital, and the Republican Center for Health Promotion.
As part of the mission, a total of 78 examinations and consultations, 24 lectures, 16 joint surgeries, 18 ultrasound studies, and 14 clinical case reviews were conducted.
“Special attention was given to the development of surgery and the exchange of experience in minimally invasive techniques. Russian specialists praised the high professional level of Kyrgyz doctors, who perform complex operations daily under heavy workloads, as well as the modern technical equipment of the country’s leading clinics. At the same time, both sides stressed the need to further develop technologies and expand joint educational projects,” the Health Ministry noted.
Russian doctors have visited Kyrgyzstan six times already, and in 2025 their missions will take place twice.
